ABOUT US

Braehead Arena is one of Scotland’s leading indoor sports and entertainment venues and home to the Glasgow Clan, Glasgow’s professional ice hockey team.

Throughout the year, Braehead is a busy and varied environment. Alongside Glasgow Clan home games, the Arena hosts concerts, sporting events, family entertainment and other live events, while Braehead Ice Centre provides public skating, ice discos, lessons and other ice activities.

We are looking for friendly, reliable and confident people to join our Box Office team on an occasional basis, primarily supporting Glasgow Clan game nights as well as selected Braehead Arena and Braehead Ice Centre events.

This is an ideal role for someone looking for flexible occasional work and who enjoys being part of the atmosphere of live sport and entertainment.

THE ROLE

As a Game Night Box Office Operative, you will often be one of the first members of our team that customers meet when arriving at Braehead Arena.

Working as part of the Ticketing and Event Operations team, you will help customers purchase, collect and resolve queries relating to their tickets, ensuring they receive a friendly, efficient and professional service.

Game nights can be busy and fast-moving, particularly immediately before doors open and face-off. You will therefore need to remain calm, organised and approachable while dealing with a high volume of customer enquiries.

Full training on our ticketing systems and procedures will be provided.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Your duties will include:

• Providing a welcoming and professional service to supporters and visitors.
• Selling tickets for Glasgow Clan games, Braehead Arena events and Braehead Ice Centre activities where required.
• Processing customer transactions accurately using our ticketing and payment systems.
• Assisting customers with ticket collections and digital ticket queries.
• Helping customers locate bookings and resolve straightforward ticketing issues.
• Assisting with seating enquiries and helping customers understand the Arena seating plan.
• Processing ticket upgrades, exchanges or other authorised changes in accordance with company procedures.
• Supporting customers with accessible seating and companion ticket enquiries.
• Providing customers with accurate information regarding events, timings, seating and venue facilities.
• Escalating more complex ticketing or customer service issues to the Ticketing Manager or Duty Manager.
• Maintaining an organised and professional Box Office working environment.
• Following appropriate procedures for payments, customer information and data protection.
• Communicating effectively with colleagues in Ticketing, Front of House, Security and Event Operations.
• Supporting the wider venue team where reasonably required during particularly busy events.
• Representing Braehead Arena, Glasgow Clan and Braehead Ice Centre positively and professionally.

ABOUT YOU

Previous box office or ticketing experience is helpful, but not essential. We are particularly interested in people with the right attitude and customer service skills.

You should be:

• Willing to learn about Glasgow Clan, Braehead Arena and Braehead Ice Centre products and events.

Experience in ticketing, retail, hospitality, events or another customer-facing environment would be advantageous, but training will be provided.

An interest in ice hockey, live sport or entertainment is welcome but is not a requirement.

WORKING HOURS & AVAILABILITY

This is an occasional-hours role designed primarily around Glasgow Clan home games and selected events at Braehead Arena.

Applicants must be available to work evenings and weekends, including Saturdays and Sundays.

Glasgow Clan home games form a significant part of the work available, with fixtures taking place predominantly at weekends and on selected weekday evenings.

Additional shifts may become available for:

• Braehead Arena concerts and events;
• Braehead Ice Centre activities;
• other sporting events;
• special events and promotions; and
• periods of increased Box Office activity.

This role is suited to someone looking for flexible work alongside other employment, education or commitments.
