The Ultimate World Cup Fanzone is Coming to Braehead Arena

This June, Premier Sports is bringing the ultimate FIFA World Cup Fanzone experience to Braehead Arena – and you’re invited to be part of the atmosphere.

Football fans will be able to experience Scotland’s World Cup journey on a huge four-sided jumbotron at Braehead Arena, as the venue transforms into a unique World Cup Fanzone this summer.

In partnership with Premier Sports, the arena will host live watch parties for two major FIFA World Cup group stage fixtures, with the arena floor converted into a giant bier halle-style fan zone.

Supporters will gather to watch the Scotland national football team take on Morocco national football team on Friday 19 June, followed by a clash with Brazil national football team on Wednesday 24 June, with both matches kicking off at 11pm.

Doors will open at 6pm on each night, giving fans five hours of pre-match entertainment ahead of kick-off. The build-up will include live music, DJs, appearances from Premier Sports pundits, and live podcast content from comedians Marc Jennings and Stephen Buchanan from the Some Laugh podcast. The evening will also be hosted by comedian Chris Forbes, widely known as the “third Murray brother”, with more entertainment still to be announced.

Some of the event will also be broadcast live on Premier Sports.

Richard Sweeney, CEO of Premier Sports, said:
“This summer marks a historic milestone as the Scotland men’s national team returns to the World Cup for the first time since 1998.

“The energy across the country will be electric and we wanted to create a home for that passion at Braehead Arena for the massive fixtures against Morocco and Brazil.

“By bringing together Scottish football legends and a full line-up of live music and DJs, we are offering fans an incredible atmosphere to match this momentous occasion.”

The events will be the first large-scale football watch parties staged at Braehead Arena. The venue regularly hosts ice hockey, wrestling, boxing and major live entertainment, and is the home of the Glasgow Clan.

Each night will welcome up to 4,500 fans, giving supporters the chance to enjoy the atmosphere together under one roof as Scotland take on two of their biggest group stage opponents.

Fans can choose from bier halle-style seating on the arena floor, with table service available for tables of four priced at £120, or standard arena seating from just £20 per person.

Russ Smith, Arena Director at Braehead Arena, said:
“This is all about coming together under one massive roof to celebrate Scotland getting back to the World Cup – and to cheer our lads on to victory.

“It’s going to be really special seeing thousands of fans full of hope and excitement together – and you can imagine the noise. The Braehead Roar could become a massive thing in football as well.

“Premier Sports have huge plans for the entertainment side of things with brilliant guests from the sporting world lined up.

“We want to bring the World Cup atmosphere to our area and help everyone really get behind Scotland. As the saying goes – no Scotland, no party.”

Renfrewshire’s Provost Lorraine Cameron added:
“There’s been such a buzz since Scotland qualified for the World Cup and it’s fantastic to see the Council partnering with Premier Sports and Braehead Arena to bring a Fanzone to Renfrewshire.”
